Kileys 1st Birthday- Lews take

Well I figured it's time to hit up blognation. As it turns out our lil daughter recently celebrated her day of birth. Which is an event in itself, but add the ole wife and it's taken to another level, not o sweet kids first birthday lets have some people over, let the little ones play, and kiley can eat cake, more like lets  get a theme (which in itself reveals a situation  with the parents, a theme party...let's bring back to life our glory days of our drunken retardedness, only more beer money went to applesauce and juice than i previously remember) so a theme was chosen, Kileys Candy Land. then the  house/backyard was transformed into a board game. Just the word board game in itself would seem like a harmless transformation, but add Kelly and Lewis has an issue, and we got same damn colored squares from the game going intertwined throughout house and out back, remodel shed for King Candy's castle for the climactic cake eating, lollipops, candy canes, frilly crap strung throughout...list goes on. Only way I can seem I came out a little bit ahead was that I didn't have to dress up as a character from the game and recruit other minions  to do so as well, and believe me this was a strong possibility leading up to the party; as well as a shitload of candy, which is a basic necessity of mine, right next to coors light.

So party was awesome and all do to the wonderful wife. I am more of a halfasser when it comes to matters such as this, so good thing Kelly takes any event/holiday to extremes; although one day when kiley will say she is two and a half years old, it is not a valid reason for a party or any other random festivities she would cook up.  And I am grateful/proud of all that kel did for kiley and the party, I hold true to when such labor and money is involved the recipient should be able to remember such an occasion (effects of alcohol are not included in this)

The climactic "smash" cake. So let's get a mini bday cake for kiley to "destroy" in front of an audience-it'll be so cute. Wrong, no destruction of such pastry occurs, and this is from several encounters with such smash cake. A tasty sugar filled treat for a youngin' to devour, only problem, they are a year old, never seen a cake before, dont know what they are looking at or what to do with it.  there is 2.5 minutes of watching a baby poke a cake, eat a little, and pay more attention at the random feeling in their hand from wet sticky icing. Havnt witnessed a child successfully "smash" a cake. But party was great, Kiley had a grand ole time. Best present goes to me, for getting my daughter a kickass purple power wheels 4-wheeler. This gift almost never happened, because the wife was thinking practical in regards to this but not so much in the over the top shenanigans that she was in charge of. So I conceded such gifts for future birthdays until an eye opening moment occurred. Kelly out and about with her family that was in town running errands for the party, lewis and kiley sitting on couch unsupervised, kiley drove drunk daddy to go play at toys r us, no rational to deter us. Victory kiley, victory. So year one daddy:12, mommy: way to many. Next year, an upgrade if
mommy ever goes out of town. And yes I am serious.
