Oxygen Please!

Ever since I have hit my third trimester I can not seem to catch my breathe. I try taking Deep breathes and it doesn't seem to work. Lewis thinks it's hilarious listening and watching me trying to take deep breathes-so glad he finds it funny because I sure don't. Apparently, this happens because my uterus has expanded to give our little baby plenty of room and has crammed everything else. It is not suppose to get better until she drops two to three weeks before I deliver. You mean 10 more weeks of having trouble breathing?!? I'm definitely going to need an oxygen tank!

A little party animal

Little Miss Baby K has become such a little dancer. She has been having a blast in my belly just dancing away. She loves to dance up a storm as soon as I get ready for bed and in the mornings. It's so cute because Lew loves to watch my belly move up and down and all around while she is playing in there. He always grabs our Flip to record it but as soon as he turns it on- she completely stops. He gets so frustrated and tells me she is camera shy. The last week I have been selling programs for Junior League. As soon as the rodeo starts and music starts playing, Baby K starts dancing. She must be a little party animal already!

Keeping up with the Kinard Klan

Much to the hubbys dismay- I have started a family blog. I’ve been wanting start a blog for awhile and I thought what better way to start than to document through my pregnancy and the many adventures it will bring. Lew is a very private person and well, I hold nothing back. I thought ‘blogging’ through this first little horned frog that is cooking inside me- I can remember the 9 months and other funny moments. I thought it would also be a good way for me to look back with future kids and see how it compares. Sometimes I might tell too much information- sorry in advance. Also, I am a terrible at spelling and grammar so just keep reading and stop judging. The have been writing these posts for months now so they are somewhat out of order- sorry about that.  I hope you enjoy Keeping up with the Kinards!

8 week Doctor Appointment

This was our first appointment to “officially” see if we are pregnant. We signed and headed to the waiting area, little did I know that every visit you have to pee in a cup and carry it around in a lunch sack until you are called. Well since I didn’t get the memo on the pee and had already gone before we went to the doctors, I had to jug water until I was ready.  After giving blood, stepping on the scale, blood pressure etc we finally meet the doctor. The doctor did an ultra sound to hear the heartbeat of the baby. It was a little crazy to hear it and realize that there is a little baby growing inside me. The doctor informed us that once you hear the heartbeat there is less than a 3% chance of a miscarriage because everything has formed and is looking in order. Apparently, most miscarriages happen when babies home is forming and what not.

12 Week Doctor Appointment

Y'all have been asking so here is the 12 week doctor appointment on Baby K! I lost 4 pounds (I thought that was great bc I felt like I had gained 10!) anyhow the doctor seemed very concerned. I have been getting sick this last week and a half and she was concerned so she prescribed me some kind of medication. We are going to wait another two weeks to see if i start feeling better, because i prefer not to take any medication. We heard the babys heart beat and it was doing good 160 (I'm guessing beats or something) and that's right in the healthy/average range. We decided to pay extra (Aka Lew can't wait any longer to know) so we can find out the gender in 3 weeks! So save to dates for October 28th and we will find out what Baby K is!

16 week Doctor Appointment

We had our 16 week doctor appt today and it went very well. I gained back those 4 pounds I had lost, so the doctor was happy. So I haven't gained or lost any weight since we found out we are expecting but the baby is started to stick out a little bit. I wouldnt call it a baby bump just yet- more like a belly bulge- ha! I was glad the baby is getting enough nutrition because i am still so nausea and still throwing up atleast 3-5 times a week.  Baby K had a heart rate of 148 (the normal rate is 120-160). So that was good and its always so sweet to hear that little heart beat! On a side note the heart rate last time was 158 so since it is lowering Lew is set that it is growing a little peepee and turning into a boy! Ha! Our next appointment is Nov 18th where we see the ultrasound and make sure the baby is healthy and well. Please keep the little one in your prayers!

18 week Doctor Appointment

We had our 18 week appointment today with a sonogram. Lews hoping for the 3% sex change didn't happen- it's still a sweet little girl! Good thing because she has quite the wardrobe building. Anyhow, I haven't gained anyway weight since I've been pregnant and the doctor is a little concerned. She said I should have put on atleast 5 pds by now- never ever has gaining weight be an issue for me, ha. I'm still getting sick, but not as often which is such a relief. The first doctor said Baby K is perfect and so healthy and our doctor said she is fabulous! The doctor went over all her organs and everything and it's all great. She was very active throughout the sonogram and was even drinking. It was cute- Lew insisted she got them from him- haha! Thank you all for your continued prayers and check-ins during this exciting time. We are blessed!

22 week Doctor Update

We had our 22 wk appointment this morning and all is going well. We no longer need to worry about not gaining enough because I officially put on 10 pounds! I was a little shocked since I had not gained any weight and all of a sudden I gain 10!!! The doctor was happy since on average at 22 weeks you should gain between 12-15 pds- so I'm now right on schedule. Lew keeps telling me he is going to start sending be back to Jersey to make sure I keep the pounds coming-ha. Baby Ks heart beat was at 141 and the doctor pointed out how healthy and strong it is. We started measuring my belly bump today and it was 23 cm and that is on target for the correct growth.
My blood pressure was great and all is going well. Next appointment we take the diabetes and anemia test. So please keep that in your prayers that they come back with no issues and all continues going great! Baby K is kicking up a storm and Lew can finally feel her moving around. It's so sweet how excited he gets and just wants to keep his hands on my belly and talk to her. I am so blessed with such an amazing husband and healthy pregnancy so far. Please keep the growing Baby in your prayers for health and happiness.

26 Week Doctor Update

We had our 26 week appointment and everything is looking great. We did the glucose test which test my blood levels but most importantly to see if she has gestitial diabetes. I couldn't have anything for breakfast and had to chug this orange sugary drink before our appointment. We got the results back and we are clear! I was relieved to say the least. I gained 4 pounds since the last appointment and our doctor was very pleased especially since that was over the holidays. Baby Ks heart rate was 146 and my blood pressure was great. Right now she is measuring 28cm which is two weeks ahead of schedule. I got excited and claimed she would come two weeks earlier- our doctor laughed and said she thinks she will be right on time but one big baby! Lovely. We are almost right at our third trimester and will start seeing our doctor every 3 weeks. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.

Babys Got a Gun!

Its official our daughter owns her very first gun! Lewis came home from another trip from Academy and had TCU baby clothes with him but this time had more excitement than usual. As I look up from cooking dinner I see him with this huge pink gun he bought for our little one. I couldn’t believe it-but he Is just so excited and as it on display. Haha!

This little piggy went to market

I went to the Dallas Market Hall the other day for my jewelry business and they were having childrens clothes on sale. I found Baby K some adorable outfits for such a bargain! I just love finding her cute little smocking dresses and outfits and not paying $75 outfit- but instead anywhere from  $5 to $30! I even found some cute little boy things for sweet baby Hugh and I can wait to give them to Lauren and Evan. There will be another sample sale in January and I cannot wait to head back to find more goodies. Baby K has quite a wardrobe already and I cannot wait for her arrival to dress her up!

Sick and Naseua

Finally after 21 weeks of throwing up and feeling like I am about to- I can finally say I think I’m over morning sickness, aka All day sickness. Woohoo! Bless Lews heart is was so wonderful always brining me water and a paper towel and making sure I would have a trash can near me at all times.

Its beginning to look alot like Christmas!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Its Christmas time and we have headed to Abilene to spend Christmas with Lews family and then we will head to San Antonio on the 26th to spend some time with my family. It’s so exciting to think this time next year we will have a little tugging at the tree and getting into presents early!  I have already bought her 3 Christmas smocking dresses for next year- haha. The first night we arrived in Abilene I got to spend some time with my sweet niece and watch the Moon. She is so stinking cute and loves to see the moon. She keeps asking what is Baby Ks name and I tell her we aren’t sure yet…..so she says we should call her Cowgirl! Haha- isn’t she precious!

Academy and Lew

Lewis favorite place to go shopping is Academy. Well he has now figured out that they sell TCU baby clothes. He is so cute coming home with little clothes for Baby K and he always is so excited to show me what he found. This last trip he held up a little TCU track suit and he seemed awfully big. I asked him what size he picked up for her and he said 4T with no idea what that meant! I just laughed and said she probably wouldn’t be wearing that for 4 more years! Haha- needless to say he learned a little lesson on baby sizing.

Lew VS the Nursery

When we bought our house we always intended that his office would eventually become the nursery because of location and the space. We have 4 bedrooms but this space is just perfect for our little one but Lew has a little convincing that needs to be done. So the battle has begun. Well not really a complete battle but the hubby doesn’t want to give up his office room for the nursery anymore. He claims it is his only space where he gets to do what he wants and can decorate to his pleasing. His other claim was that he cannot focus in the new office because the walls were not painted a TCU purple like his current office. Haha! Anyhow, wish me luck that we slowly move him out and start getting to move her in……….

The day after we found out.....

The next morning after finding out I was pregnant , I woke up to grab something to eat. Much to my surprise our refrigerator was fully loaded (so packed there wasn’t room for anything else) with fruit. I think Lew bought every fruit the store was selling. Not only had he fully  loaded our refrig but I had a notebook list of what to eat and what not to eat, along with a huge bottle of prenatal vitamins. It hadn’t been 24 hrs and Lew was ready! I have to admit it was super sweet and a little funny. I found out he never slept that night because he was so excited and want to start reading up on parenthood.

It's a.............

GIRL!  I wanted to do something special for our friends and family to let them know what we are having, rather than just calling or texting. For our family I put together two different little packages that were labeled “Horned” or “Frog”,  once we found out what we were having we texted our family to open “Frog.” As for our friends, we did a Cocktails and Cupcake party. I decorate our house in pink and blue and our friends were instructed to wear the color they thought we were having. It was funny because most girls wore pink, and the boys wore blue. I had prepared cupcakes early that day and made strawberry ones with white icing- You couldn’t really tell what color they were until you bit into them. The evening was so fun and we appreciated all our friends who came and my sister in law who drove in from Dallas! Below are some pictures.
Sweet candy

bitting into the cupcake to find out if its a Boy or Girl!

Kat excited as ever!

We are having a Little Horned Frog!

If you know me- you know I cant keep a secret because I get so excited! Lew usually always received his presents I buy him before its time; birthday, Christmas est. His mother wont even tell me anymore what she buys him because she thinks I will spoil the surprise. So imagine how hard it was for me to keep the best surpirse a secret for 8 weeks?!?! To make matters even harder Everyone knows Lew and I love our cocktails and we had a few events to attend while I was ‘secretly’ pregnant. The events included my best friends boyfriend (now fiancĂ©) was having his birthday party at Medieval times and that evening I drank vodka and sprite (aka Sprite); our dear friends Emily and Will were getting married the next weekend so I carried a glass of wine around with me; and then we had Labor with friends staying with us and a big TCU football game at cowboy stadium. Well, we made it through all the fun events without anyone asking or guessing if I was pregnant. And it was so relieving to finally let everyone know of our exciting news! Needless to say my family was thrilled! I am the first of my siblings’ to be pregnant, so I will be giving my mother her first grandchild and she is so excited. Lew’s parents were so thrilled as well and know how exciting grandbabies  are- his sister has two sweet little girls. Our friends were so excited and surprised. I did a great job of ‘pretend’ drinking. I think that was the hardest part of hiding the secret for 8 weeks.
