Happy Halloween!

Being a God loving person is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff-- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, envy, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.

Happy Halloween!

Happy 6 months!

Happy 6 months Miss Priss! You are such a happy and content little baby! This month you are becoming very mobile and are trying very hard to crawl. You like to get up on all fours and rock back and forth. If you are on your tummy you "swim" on the carpet trying to move. You definitely don't like to sit still for too long before you are rolling all over and scouting across the room. This movement has made diaper changes a little more challenging. You want to roll over and crawl and so sometimes mommy and daddy make changing your diaper a joint effort. You also grab at everything- anything that is in reach you manage to get and put into your mouth. You particularly love moms cross necklace and daddy's horned frog. You grab and reach for Lady much more now. Lady let's you pet her for a little bit and then will eventually move out of your reach because you aren't always gentle. You love when she gives you kisses. We have started you onto fruits and you seem to enjoy them-in general you just love to eat! You have started to get a little more clingy with your mommy. You especially won't let me put you into your baby Einstein (but you let Daddy without a fuss) You want me to be by your side or playing with you. You still love your bath time and get extremely excited kicking your legs and waving your arms. You also enjoy our evening walks. You just look around at everything. You are starting to get a tooth! You can see the top one coming in (apparently 90% of children get their bottom 2 firsts)Overall you hardly ever fuss and are such a happy baby! We love you so much Miss Priss!

You are still super smart, and all brains :)
Weight- 16 pounds (55%)
height- 25 1/2 inches (40%)
head- 17 cm (75%)

You are still strictly a breast milk baby! My goal is to go a full year. You are still wearing 6 month clothes but I have pulled out 6-9 and some 12 months even though they are huge on you. You just started wearing size 3 diapers.

Firsts this month:
-you sit up
-You went to your first TCU tailgate! We didn't stay too long because it was a little warm so Daddy stayed and I took you home
- you spent the night out at the Ranch and helped daddy check the game cameras
- you meet "off duty" Santa Claus at lunch
- you loved going to the Zoo with MiMi and I

UCC weeks 6 & 7

Since it's October Kiley has dressed in Halloween attire for MDO. Right now when she is at MDO, I've been busy volunteering on two different committees so I am excited for November 5th to roll around. After Nov 5th I'm excited to start enjoying those few hours for myself :) The teachers also made a comment about how much purple Kiley always has on! Ha!

Oct 4- week 6

Oct 18- week 7 (they didn't have school Oct 11th). She started in the outfit above but they had changed her into the outfit below when I picked her up because she spit up on her sweet little smocked outfit

For Halloween I made these little Book Goody Bags for your classmates. It's a Halloween book that the mommies can put a picture of their baby in and read to them.

I'm a Big Girl now.....

I can sit up by myself

I can sit in a high chair

And I can hold my bottle

Other little quirks:
-You love to hold onto my diamond cross when nursing. The first thing you do is grab it and hold onto it and play with it between your little fingers
- you reach your hands up and open for me to pick you up
-you giggle when I get you out of your crib in the morning
-you will just talk and play in your crib when you wake up. You do not cry at all but just roll around and talk
-if it is around feeing time and I walk into the room you will whine and fuss for me to feed you. You will be happy as a clam playing with daddy and all of a sudden you see me and start making your funny noises
-you know what a bottle is and the pink/purple bowls we feed you in
-you are getting up on all 4s and rocking

And just for me to remember you aren't 6 months yet and here is your schedule:
8:00 wake up and eat (nurse and then 2-3 tablespoons of rice cereal with BM mixed in)
9:00-10:30 morning nap
11:30 eat (nurse and 1-2oz of veggies)
1-3 afternoon nap
3:30 eat (nurse and 1-2oz of veggies)
4:30-5:30 evening nap
6:30 eat (nurse and 2-3 tablespoons of rice cereal with BM)
Bath, book and play
7:30 into crib for bedtime (sometimes you go into sooner around 7 or 7:15)

Monday- I try to leave this open but we usually have a lunch date with a friend and their baby
Tuesday- UCC mothers day out
Wed-music class and lunch with the other mommies
Thursday-group play date
Friday- try to leave open and spend it with Daddy, sometimes we do a play date

Please stop growing up so fast!

Conference call, Kiley style

Well just had a conference call with Kiley's teacher. Kelly mentioned this the other day apparently but I have no recollection of such occurrence. I damn conference call, what the hell did Kiley do to get this kind of attention. Made one of the classmates eat her dirty diaper? Stole another babies bottle? Or bitch slap one of them for disrespecting the purple? Come to find out that this little conference call is a "good" thing, a time for the teachers to let us know what is going on with her and the class. I never recall such attention upon myself at such an age, guess we are the badass parents on the block. Scratch that, Kelly is, can't take the credit from that woman. She taught her to roll over, and over and over (cool trick in thought, bad when daddy loses her 20 yards away under the couch, damn baby just got away from me), working on crawling, talking, socializing, among other things I am prolly not privy to. Me, I have constantly worked on 1 thing- do the TCU Spit Blood hand sign. She is more towards the advancement of our beautiful lil baby, me more towards making me laugh and gloat at gameday tailgates.so lesson learned, conference calls good at this point in time, years from now...it's a toss up.
