Wow wonderful year 2011 was! I would have never imagined life would have changed as much as it did in just a short year. The biggest blessing we ever have received was our sweet daughter, Mary Kiley. Being a mother brought way more changes than I would have ever imagined. It is the hardest work but beyond the most rewarding. We were enriched with certain friends who really showed the value and meaning of friendship and support! God blessed me so richly in new mommy friends that had so much wisdom and love for me and my growing family. It was more than I could have ever imagined or dreamt of. This year was beyond a fabulous year and I can only imagine what 2012 holds for The Kinard Klan. Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!

8 months

I love this picture! You were doing a "cheese" face :)

Happy 8 months! Wow- time flying by. This month you have become such a mover and groover. You started crawling right after 7 months. It melts my heart how when I walk into the room you get the biggest smile and crawl towards me. You love to pull up in things. You can go from sitting to crawling, back to sitting. I must say you can do whatever you please- such a strong and active little thing. You are still a fabulous eater and will eat anything and everything- you also want it fed to you in a hurry. Sometimes your daddy moves a tad slow (imagine that) and you kick your legs and make noises for him to pick up the pace. You now eat cherrios halved and love them. They keep you very quite and occupied in your highchair. You also got your first tooth! We wouldn't even know you were teething because you weren't fussy or anything. That brings me to how happy, go lucky you are. You are so easy going and rarely ever cry or fuss. You get more compliments that you are the best baby and we couldn't agree more (but of course we are bias). You still absolutely love bath time and hate getting out. You could splish, splash forever with your bath toys. You love your play room and exploring with all your toys and eating them.

You have taken an interest in your video monitor. You gran it and pull it into your crib all the time! Your daddy keeps re-attaching it and changing where he puts it but you still manage to grab. You pull up in your crib and terrorize your bumpers. Oh and how could in forget, you love to throw all your paci's out of the crib.

You took your first trip to New Jersey to see you great grandmother and Aunts, and cousins. You decided that you were too excited to sleep on the plain rides so you instead played. We had a blast spending time with everyone and you were awesome and stayed on your schedule. Your GG is a major shopper and went over board buying you things and your cousins were also very generous. Needless, to say we came home with an additional 5 large boxes of goodies (and that was only your first Christmas).

You got your first virus- the hand, foot, and mouth. You got a very mild case of it but it was still no fun with the blisters in your throat.

You are still nursing like a champ! Mommy wants us to make it a year- and I know we can do it! Although you have become a baby vampire with your new two front bottom teeth.....something mommy is trying to get you to stop doing.

You are super happy when you see daddy or me. It's so sweet because when you get excited you kick your legs back and forth and rock your body. It's so sweet!

You are loving lady more and more! You crawl after her and always try to pet her. When she gives you kisses you open your mouth- it's so funny (and a tad gross)

Here is your schedule:
8:15 wake up and eat, nurse and 2tablespoons rice cereal with bananas
9:15-11:00 morning nap
11:30- nurse, 2oz fruits, 3oz veggies
1:00-3:00- afternoon nap
3:30- nurse
5-5:45- evening catnap
6:30- nurse, 2oz fruits, 3oz veggies
7:30 bedtime

You are growing way too fast! We love you so very much!

7 months

I know this is late..... But better late than never. Here is your 7 month recap:

Kiley you are still such a happy, go lucky baby. You have such a little talker. You love attention but also very happy and content playing by yourself. You have officially started army crawling this month! You will get up on all fours but can get around much faster so you always decide to do a version of an army crawl instead.

You are trying pull up on things. You cant stand pulling up but you try very hard to.

You got sick this month and we made a few trips to the pediatrician. You had a cold/ cough and babyYeast infection.

You are still strictly a breast milk only baby.

Other notes:
No teeth yet
Eating purée chicken sometimes
Sitting in highchair
Eating puffs
First babysitter- your daddy and I had a wedding so we has to leave you for 3 hours. I made sure you were fed and ready for bed.
First thanksgiving
Squirmy warm with diaper changes- you get mad when I try to change you after a nap
You love to play in your crib. Once you wake up you just talk and talk
Finished your play room (almost)
First tailgate at TCU- we only went for about 30 mins before i took you home
If u don't care for a food you will barely open your but you will still eat it. It's pretty funny.

We love to see your growth each month and you are becoming a big girl each day. We love you so very much!

The Real Santa Story

It's been awhile ladies ( would include men but we all know this here blog is geared towards those with only an X chromosome). Quick recap of one of the latest escapades kelly and kiley have involved me in, most notably is the whole Santa costume. Kelly, sweet mother that she is wanted to have a little Xmas party at the house one week with all of kileys friends, moms in tow, since their "school" was off that week. Que candy canes, cupcakes that look like a snowman, personalized reindeer hats for all the kids, champagne maybe a little before noon for the moms, and oh yeah.... a surprise visit from a real life Santa! and thus my involvement in such party becomes clear. I am usually fair game for whatever holiday/party the ole wifey signs me up to take part in, strict rule/disclaimer though, I will/have to be amply supplied with coors light prior to festivities beginning. Santa apparently was stopping in funkytown on a Wednesday at 11AM, so the father of kiley would have to work per and post party, so strict rule could not be enforced for this event.
So I had painstakingly been growing some beautiful locks of hair that made a kick ass, mountain man, don't fuck with the bearded guy, beard. Which made the cut for kileys newborn or 3 month pictures but got the ax for the 6 month pics (yeah- Kelly likes pictures), so woulda been legit to die the beard white and at least have a sliver of realism for the costume. But alas, fake white beard over my future locks. So.... beard-check, red suit-check, gay hat-check, white (fake) beard-check, goofy belt-check, red bag full of presents-check. 11:15AM Santa arrives to cheers from the crowd. Takes a seat and is ready for the little ones to tell Santa what they want for Christmas (if they've been good). Since this fairy tale adventure I have made a new rule, if Santa makes an appearance kids must be over 2 or something. 80% were not enticed by a jolly sober Santa with a bag full of gifts to hop up on his lap. Yeah, half were not okay with being in the same room as Santa, others just looked and stared like I was some random dude on the street that talks to himself, cool to look but no where near cool enough to touch. The only ones that engulfed themselves to such treasures that were in that big ole red bag were ones that didn't have much choice (I.e. couldn't walk, talk, etc). Santa's appearance was brief and all in all painless, although those damn suits are fucking hot, it was a good memory in the end, so my thanks to kiley's mom for recruiting Santa for her little party, though for the future Santa prefers the afternoon/evening arrival.

Love: The Verb.

I read this and had to share.

Really, everything in life comes down to one thing: L O V E.

LOVE IN ACTION

"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. On the contrary:

'If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."

Do no be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
-Romans 12:9-21

Unfortunately, sometimes during the holiday season, it' can be a test to love with ACTION towards people in those long lines at the stores, or the bah humbug cashiers who definitely aren't making our season bright, or even those close ones who struggle to find the TRUE reason behind the season. As the 2011 Christmas season descends on it's final week, I want to be daily reminded of what Jesus calls on us to do with the most ferocity, not just at Christmas time, but through out our lives--to our spouses, our children, our neighbors, and our enemies.

In conclusion, it's simple:
LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Week 13- was totally exhausted when I picked her up.

This week there was a sing a long concert so I volunteered to help out with her class.

(With her friends in the buggy on their way to sing!)

Her Christmas art projects

Last but not least below are her Christmas gifts to her classmates and teachers. The kids got a book and her sweet teachers received a cooking assortment (recipe box, recipe cards, Christmas cookie cutters, and a spatula). Happy Holidays!
